1907 New York Times Circus Article

There was a circus performance in Madison Square Garden yesterday morning such as will not be repeated until the show returns to New York on its next annual tour. In many ways there is no other performance which equals it in interest, and yet it was given to an absolutely empty house. Act for act, stunt for stunt, it was the same circus that the public sees, but with this big difference - it was in negligee. There were no spangles, no gauze, no tinsel, no glare, and glitter. And can you imagine a real circus stripped of these?
